The project includes the construction of a new manufacturing and assembly facility abutting the existing structures on the Laitram campus. The building has a structural steel frame and load bearing tilt-up wall panels with a plan area of approximately 267,000 square feet. New 70 foot tall silos are also provided on the north side of the facility.

SE was retained to provide Geotechnical Engineering services during the design phase and materials testing and inspection services during construction. Twenty (20) borings were drilled in the building and parking area. Two (2) deep borings were also drilled in the silo footprints.

The facility is supported on shallow foundations while the new silos are supported on auger cast piles.
