Tony

Tony Y. Maroun, P.E.

Principal

Tony is the Principal and Manager of Stratum Engineering, LLC. Under his leadership, the firm has experienced significant growth in a short period of time. He leads a group of technical professionals who share his beliefs and passions. Tony continues to be a hands-on engineer and oversees the company’s overall operations, promotes Stratum Engineering’s core values and commitments, and drives growth and development of new disciplines.

Prior to founding Stratum Engineering, Tony spent 24 years with a national engineering firm. He joined the firm as a part-time technician while attending graduate school in 1985. After graduation in 1987, he continued his employment with the same firm and practiced in Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma and Washington where he rose through the ranks to Vice President and Principal Engineer. During his tenure, he became well recognized in the community and developed strong relationships locally and nationally which are integral to Stratum’s success.

Tony graduated with a Bachelor and a Master of Science degrees from the University of New Orleans. He is happily married to Elizabeth since 1987. Tony and Elizabeth are both dog lovers and their common interests include traveling, boating, exercising and music.

Dean

William 'Dean' McInnis, P.E.

Senior Project Manager/Geotechnical Engineer

Dean currently serves as the Senior Project Manager over the geotechnical engineering services and oversees the drilling and laboratory operations. He and Tony work closely to develop a thorough understanding of each project and ensure the project deliverables are met in a timely manner while providing a hands on, personal approach to every aspect of the project.

Dean spent five years serving in the U.S. Navy as a helicopter crew chief and quality assurance inspector before returning home to southeast Louisiana in 2004. He joined the Slidell Fire Department in 2005 and worked as a firefighter for the next 2 ½ years including extensive service during Hurricane Katrina. Dean resigned from the fire service in 2007 to continue his education at the University of New Orleans. While attending UNO full-time, he worked during the day for a national engineering firm as a soils laboratory technician and nights and weekends for an oil spill response company. Following his graduation with a Bachelors of Science degree in Civil Engineering from UNO in spring 2011, he became the Soils Lab Manager before leaving to join Stratum Engineering.

Dean has been happily married to his wife, Amanda, since 2001 and they have two great kids. They love spending their time away from work coaching their kid’s sports teams, traveling, and spending quality time with family and friends.

Robert Fowler

Project Manager

Robert is a project manager in the construction materials testing and inspection department of Stratum Engineering. In this role, Robert coordinates and manages a team of cross trained field personnel providing testing and inspection services for all aspects of construction including, asphalt, concrete and soils.

Prior to joining Stratum Engineering in 2012, Robert spent 22 years building roads, bridges and buildings throughout Louisiana and Mississippi. Through the years, Robert has acquired, maintained and earned numerous certifications with NICET, ACI, LaDOTD and MDOT.

Robert is divorced and has two sons and a granddaughter. Robert spends his free time outdoors hunting, fishing and camping.

Mitch Landry

Project Manager /Staff Engineer

Mitch is a project manager and staff engineer working in the Geotechnical Engineering Department. He assists with managing the daily drilling activities and laboratory testing operations, as well as, working alongside senior engineering staff to meet the needs of each project.

Mitch, combined with the experience and knowledge of two Professional Engineers, makes up an efficient geotechnical engineering team that provides consulting throughout Louisiana and the surrounding states. Mitch began his career with Stratum Engineering as a lab technician working during his summer breaks while attending the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

Once graduating with a degree in Petroleum Engineering in May 2019, Mitch began working fulltime as a CMT field technician with the company. Through perseverance and a strong work effort, he was promoted to his current  position with Stratum Engineering.

Mitch enjoys attending sporting events with friends and family, traveling, and physical fitness. His favorite sports teams include the New Orleans Saints, New Orleans Pelicans, and Houston Astros.
